The brilliance of the California Police Department is really processive. They are taking a big step towards the future, and crime surge, by plugging police vehicles and modifying their fleet with cool electric cars like the Tesla Model 3 sedan. This move towards electric vehicles is part of an overall initiative to reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality in the state. The police procurement process has been modified to allow for the purchase of these electric cars, and just a few vehicles have been modified so far. Among these are some notorious Tesla race cars that have been modified for special police work by modifier Unplugged Performance. This car modifier is known for its expertise in modifying EVs, and they have worked with the Pasadena Police Department to create a race car that can help officers respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations.

People are doing this by ditching entire internal combustion fleets and pivoting towards electric cars. They are starting with 10 Tesla Model 3s that will replace their old gas cruisers. The Pasadena Police Department is getting serious about this by taking the steps to have a public private partnership with Tesla tuners and Rings Unplugged Performance to create policing big brother type cool modified Tesla Model S, which they have named "Plaid Racer." This EV can outpace some of the chase vehicles used by police departments in the area. Rings Unplugged Performance is renowned for its expertise in modifying EVs and is one of only a few European tuner shops that specialize in tuning Teslas. This partnership with the Pasadena Police Department has created a unique opportunity for both parties to promote sustainable transportation while increasing efficiency in law enforcement. It's exciting to see how these tuned Teslas will perform as drive police and chase police vehicles when compared to traditional BMW cruisers from their respective automakers.

The modifications to Tesla's vehicles include other changes such as various lights, maintaining a modern EV fleet, and addition of a graphics package that includes lights and sirens. The package also includes vehicle protection pieces such as shielding protection, crash and safety systems, and ballistic shielding. These different variants are designed to ensure officer safety while driving the vehicles which have specialized K9 units. One of the significant advantages of using Teslas is their reliability which is crucial when it comes to police work where every second counts. It's exciting to see how these tuned Teslas will perform as drive police and chase police vehicles when compared to traditional BMW cruisers from their respective automakers. Another advantage is their driving dynamics which are perfect for high-speed chases. The move towards Tesla vehicles is not only beneficial for law enforcement but also for the environment, given that they are electric cars that emit no harmful gases into the atmosphere. 

The department plans to provide Tesla-specific engineering, sales support, and customer cars as they upgrade their fleet with the cheapest electric car, the Tesla Model 3. The department has already delivered its plan and begun the upfitting process of their full 20-vehicle fleet. They have partnered with a tuner who plans to upgrade their Teslas' performance capabilities while maintaining comfort and luxury features. With this development, we can expect more police departments to follow suit in replacing their gas cruisers with Teslas as they realize the benefits of this eco-friendly initiative.
